Trek Full-Suspension Gravel Bike just dropped—And I’m into it.
Trek just launched something pretty wild — their first-ever full-suspension drop-bar gravel bike, the CheckOUT. Yep, you read that right: suspension, drop bars, and clearance for 56mm tires. This thing is built for the riders who can’t stay on one type of terrain and want to link pavement, gravel, and singletrack all in one ride.
I’m talking 55mm of rear travel paired with a brand-new 60mm RockShox Rudy XL fork. That combo is meant to smooth out washboards, chatter, and rooty singletrack without turning your bike into a pogo stick. Trek claims it reduces rider fatigue by over 40% compared to a rigid setup, which means more energy for big days and fewer sore arms at the end of the ride.

The cockpit got a glow-up too, with a new GR CheckOUT bar. The bar is wide, flared, and swept back for comfort and control when things get sketchy. And with room for up to 2.2” tires, this thing looks like it can party on just about any surface you point it at.

All-Day Geometry
Geometry-wise, it leans into adventure: a bit longer, a bit taller, and designed for multi-day trips where stability matters more than crit-race snappiness. And they didn’t forget the bikepackers — there are 18 mounts, a suspension-compatible rear rack, and clever adjustable mounts for cages, bags, or whatever weird setup you’re dreaming up.

The frame is Trek’s 500 Series OCLV Carbon, trail-tested to MTB standards. So even loaded down with gear, it should still feel snappy when you want to rip.
Bottom line? The CheckOUT looks like it’s ready to take on those mixed-surface routes. That’s where a hardtail feels too slow on the road and a rigid gravel bike beats you up on the singletrack.
I had asked Trek several times if they’re release a Supercaliber for gravel. Well, this is it and pricing starts at $3,699.99.
It’s available now globally through Trek dealers and online.
