Fixed Gear in Pop Culture

Atlantic%20cover.jpg On the way to LOOK’s Media Day in California, I saw this magazine cover in the airport. I thought, Holy Crap! Next thing ya know, they’ll be using fixies to sell toaster strudel and McCoffee!

I’ll give props for having an anatomically correct fixie with a front brake, CX lever, and toe straps. However, the cover of the magazine did not convince me to buy the magazine….I wouldn’t want others to think that I would lower myself to read anything other than Tolstoy and porn.

Dude. I hate to be the bearer of bad news…

It’s the urban velo-trendy way to travel. Notice they also depicted the rider without a helmet and not paying any attention to where she is going.

Looks accurate to me.

That also has a lot to do with Agency staff being creative and aware of trends. There’s also many of them just into bikes as well, as design.

Just be thankful she isn’t fist bumping America-hating-terrorists…

There’s a new demographic: fist-bumpin’ fixed. They need their own beer, like PBR, but a bit more hoppy.
