What To Watch: Fleabag

A suggested comedy series to binge watch between all the miles ridden this weekend is Fleabag—before the family arrives, we got through the 6 episodes in 2 nights. The mini series from the BBC is about a narcissist who worries she’s too narcissistic. It’s dry-witted British humor that breaks the 4th wall perfectly. The lead character compulsively turns every situation sexual, like pulling off her sweater accidentally during a loan application exposing some Agent Provocateur business or fondling a random cucumber.

At one point, she flirts with a dog…and, later rebuffs the advances of her sister’s husband. Really funny stuff.

Written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Fleabag started as a standup, then a play, and now a series on Amazon. Describing herself in character, as “a greedy, perverted, selfish, apathetic, cynical, depraved, morally bankrupt woman who can’t even call herself a feminist,” Fleabag is def not a feminist, but a brimful of pathos.

We’re watching Fleabag on Amazon free with Prime.
