Pirelli Launches P Zero

Pirelli launches P Zero today. That’s a new family of clincher tires. P Zero Race is for pure performance. P Zero Road is for those looking for an all-round clincher.

The performance version sells for $49.99 and the race is $74.90. The Velo line, being replaced by Zero, is still on Amazon.

Both offer even more grip, smoothness, and comfort. The race tire is made with Pirelli’s new SmartEVO Compound. The casing has been adapted to the latest ETRTO 19c rim standards (inner channel size). The performance rubber is for racing and long-distances. It performs on various ground surfaces. That includes dry or wet conditions. And, from spring too late autumn.

For example, Pirelli’s engineers packed all the benefits of tubular technology into a race-ready all-rounder that, according to them, outperforms their competitors. Similarly, Tufo did the same back in the days when I raced CX.

The new SmartEVO Compound uses a blend with 3 different polymers. This achieves the optimal balance of grip and rolling resistance.

Available in 24, 26, 28 and 30 mm sizes, in black or with para rubber sidewalls (Classic). Likewise, P ZERO Race will soon be available in a color edition too. Pirelli bringing more innovation to road is great to hear, let’s just hope they’re actually shipping.
