Gorewear Ultimate Bib Shorts+ Launched

Gorewear Ultimate Bib Shorts+

Gorewear Ultimate Bib Shorts+ launched last month. I spent the better part of a day testing them on a long gravel ride. They’re the best bibs I’ve ever tried from Gorewear, and I’ve tested them all. If you value comfort, these are well worth the steep $300 price tag.

What sets them apart is the 3D-printed pad and compression fabric. They breathe and move with you seamlessly. The nicest feature is the stay-put collar on your thigh, ensuring they stay in place. Of course, with Gorewear, there are plenty more features.

What's better than a 3D printed seat? A pad.

Designed for Comfort

The shorts include a proprietary EXPERT N3X 3D-printed seat pad, developed in collaboration with Elastic Interface engineers. This innovative seat pad uses advanced 3D printing technology, allowing for precise layer-by-layer construction that offers superior technical control compared to traditional foam pads. Made from eco-friendly, bio-based hydrophobic material and topped with recycled fabric, this seat pad significantly reduces the bib’s environmental impact.

The open grid structure of the seat pad enhances performance by offering faster drying times, minimal sweat absorption, and improved air permeability for optimal skin temperature management.

Beyond the chamois, the Ultimate Bib Shorts+ feature woven functional zoning in the fabric, blending compression and breathability across body-mapped areas. This added compression boosts blood flow to key muscles, extending time to fatigue and promoting faster recovery. The design also reduces the number of seams, enhancing durability and next-to-skin comfort, a hallmark of Gorewear products.

The shoulder straps are crafted from a wide, single-piece mesh material, ensuring even tension distribution and maximum breathability. Additional features include quick-drying fabric, flat seams, and reflective details for increased visibility.

What all that tech means is shorts that stay put, are comfortable, and don’t chafe. The shorts won an ISPO award. What convinced the judges?
