The Mach 5.5 Carbon builds on Pivot’s legacy of their renowned Mach 5.7 Carbon as a quintessential trail bike. With 140mm of rear travel, it sticks the dirt and pedals efficiently. That’s what got my attention, I was riding a full suspension bike that handled like a hardtail when climbing.
On descents, the 160mm travel Fox 36 fork sucks up the bumps. And, the 5.5 is just fun, as it should be.
Sizing
The Mach 5.5 Carbon is offered in five sizes to fit riders from 4’11” to 6’7”. Every size option, including size XS, fits a full-size water bottle inside the front triangle. It is available as a complete bike, with builds weighing under 27lbs (12.2kg), complete with a dropper, and with frame weights as low as 5.2lbs(2.35kg).
Pricing
The Mach 5.5 Carbon complete bike is available immediately in two color options (black or red), and in nine different Shimano or SRAM configurations ranging from $4,899 to $10,199 USD. It is also available as a frameset for $3,099.
