Rain City Fix ‘08 Photo Book

rain%20city%20fix%20logo.jpg Out now is Aaron Edge’s tabletop book richly describing Seattle’s fixed gear scene in words and pictures, with photography by Brenton Salo.

It’s really cool to see how individual to the rider the bikes are. As a mechanic, I usually cannot remember people as well as I can remember their bikes.

I love myself some bicycles, but damn if this book isn’t taking something you do for fun, or for your work or your commute, and turning it into a hipster fashion accessory.
I also love the idea of developing bike culture in this country, which happens to include people without the time, money, or inclination to dress up and preen for other members of their (incredibly homogeneous peer group), like the above folks.
