Pulsejet Bike

Pulse Jet powered bicycle inventor was interviewed today on KUOW.

Talk about a Commuter Challenge – this guy could blast past you on his way to work.

Also noticed on Wired. Dig that it’s retro style with the Brooks Saddle.

I’ve seen pulse jet demos in science classes, but this is definitely more exciting/insane.  I’m pretty sure it’s illegal for road use what with all the flames and noise (aside from the speed and pedaling requirements for motor assisted bicycles.)
Vision recumbents had a functional jet turbine on one of their concept bikes:  http://www.outsideconnection.com/gallant/hpv/vision/
