What I “don’t und’astand is how I can spend five grand” on a bike with a Shimano 105 gruppo and Taiwanese carbon. But that’s me.

I was just saying that on a ride, “cheap carbon is no better than cheap aluminum.” If you’re going to ride either, spend or go with steel or ti. Carbon is what aluminum was. Mass produced and with a terrible ride. While a high-end carbon rides like you wouldn’t believe. F1 style.
