The BBC is offering an amateur cyclist an opportunity to ride the first stage of this year’s Tour de France on the eve, with a historic UK Grand Depart, and blog it all. That’s definetly a pick me, pick me for our readers across the pond.
I’m going to the first stage. How do I sign up for that sweet prize? :)

Poo. Rule #1: This competition is open to UK residents only. Overseas entries will not be considered.
I tried to enter the British Cyclosportive Event, but the registrations filled up in under a day. The only way to sign up now is by paying 250+ Euros and go with a tour company. That’s a bit steep, but I’m considering it.
Totally do it—if you’ve got the time and opp. It’s on my list of things to do. If you do, blog it all and we’ll link it up.
Seattle Bicycle Master Plan
was the previous entry in this blog.
The Track Bike with 3 Down Tubes
is the next one.
