Bahamas: Folding Cousins

Traveling with the Brompton and Dahon Mµ SL on this trip to the Bahamas, using Dahon’s Airporter cases.

Kept the weight under 50 pounds for each bike and didn’t get charged extra by the airlines. Before the trip, Dahon sent us the iPhone Mount and we’ll post on that soon.

I hope the weather is nicer off shore than south Florida.  At least it’s sunny, I guess.

Unusally cool I suspect here, but ok. The riding has been outstanding and unexpected. We met up with some locals today who told us about the racing scene, Tour of Bahamas, and that   @ghincapie rides there during the Winter.

Which ride did you like the best between your two foldies and why?

They both have a good ride and distinctive from each other. See my previous reviews here: [Brompton: High-performance folding](http://bikehugger.com/2007/12/brompton-ride-london.html).  [Urban Performance: Dahon Mu Ex](http://bikehugger.com/2009/05/dahon-mu-ex.html). Biggest difference is in wheelsize and weight: 20 inch wheels on the Dahon at 19 pounds and 16 for the Brompton at 23 pounds. Dahons are intended for urban, multi-modal travel and easy storage. The Bromptons are meant to travel with a 25 year obsessive attention to folding. I’ll pick up your comment in a post and discuss S&S as well as Bike Friday.
