Rode a McLaren Venge from Specialized’s Private Reserve earlier this week. There are currently 8 of these preproduction bikes in the world. They sell for $15k retail. Are they worth it? Yes and I’ll tell you why in my next post.
Yeah, you said you’d tell us more about the S-Works 29er a couple of days ago. Stop telling us about things you’re not going to follow through on.

DL- It’s not that I’m impatient to read about a bike I’ll never want to buy- it’s about you doing what you say you’re going to do.
You say your next post will be about why a bike is worth its price and instead you write about a broken CD.
If you have no intent to actually write about these bikes (advertisers and sponsors take note), then don’t commit to it.
I hate to sound like one of those hot headed soon-to-be-ex readers but there are sites with better editorial direction worth spending my time on.
It’s the “next post” about the Venge. We’ve got tons to talk about and cards full of video and images from the events we attend—I’ve been processing photos since I got back. Don’t know why that upsets you so much to threaten to stop reading, but the editorial direction is from me and the posts will come when they do. Regarding the advertisers and sponsors you’re warning, we’re a blog, and not a magazine. The post flow is not linear and never has been.
As I said, patience and thanks for sticking around. I’m working on it and do hear what you’re saying.
I am pissed about the Venge review delay too! I was going to torch your car, but I guess leaving the blog is more appropriate
