Even during SXSW, get up real early to ride and the streets are this quiet. In Austin’s Hidden City, away from the tourists, we didn’t see many cars, just a handful during the ride.

In what’s expected to be another flat year for bike developments, Saris is getting buzz for their new, updated line of Power Meters. We’ll have them in to ride, as soon as they ship. The updates included, chain-ring based and pedals.

A fav image from Austin this weekend and Americana in Texas at the ABGB, also featured by Sony Mirrorless Pro via our photography editor David Schloss. Besides all the riding and the bike, the assignment was to find the Hidden City during SXSW and we did just that.

More to follow with words in the upcoming issue 23 of our magazine. For the camera nerds, that photo was shot with the new Sony Vario-Tessar T* FE 16-35mm f/4 lens. And, there’s a problem in Austin with some many young parents – children and bars, pubs, and breweries.

SXSW 15: River City Camo Kit

The timing is such that I rode with Wiley in his cameo River City kit in Austin and then back home in Seattle, noticed this new edit from that famous shop.

SXSW 15: El Gato Burped


On the trail with El Gato, during a MTB meetup at SXSW in the Barton Creek Greenbelt, he said

I’m still smooth, but fatter, so I think burped it.

He did AND showed me the new Giant Bicycles​ Anthem Advanced SX.

Tires on the road, shifting, excuses, praise, music; the sounds we hear when ride.

And a tubeless burp, the sound of a swollen creek as you cross it….
