Badge Holders and Locals

Our rides are always open to everyone. On Saturday, admittance to the BBQ at Mellow Johnnys is for SXSW badge holders and we’ll have wristbands for the locals and cyclists without badges (in limited numbers). On Sunday, no badges are needed for anything. Just ride and then get a cup for the keg.

The bike share does require badges. The program is designated for SXSW attendees.

Bike Hugger at SXSW 12

+SXSW released their schedule this week and Built is at Noon on the Next Stage, Tuesday March 13th. I host the event and it’s +Bike Hugger’s flavor of an Ignite, with ten 5-minute presentations by diverse speakers on rapid fire topics surrounding the idea of re-purposing: taking the ordinary and creating the extraordinary.

Built is an attendee favorite and I’m proud to bring it back and represent in Austin, like I’ve done for years. If you’ve got a topic to submit, get it in now.

The day before I’m speaking about Independent Manufacturing with Social Media. Riding everyday too with some new bikes. I’ll announce our annual Mobile Social SXSW, as soon as we finalize the details.

See you there.

Built at SXSW 12: Call for Speakers

BUILT is a series of short talks by DIY creators which launched at SXSW 2011, and Bike Hugger is bringing it back to SXSW 2012 for their biggest event of the year. This attendee favorite delivers ten 5-minute presentations by diverse speakers on rapid fire topics surrounding the idea of re-purposing: taking the ordinary and creating the extraordinary. Come witness the future of creativity at BUILT 2012 on Next Stage.

BUILT: Giving New Purpose to the Ordinary Mon. March 12th at 12:00pm. Next Stage in Exhibit Hall 4.

Our call for speakers is still open for Built at SXSW and we want to put together the best program we can. We’re most interested in what you’ve got to say about re-purposing: taking the ordinary and creating the extraordinary. You can also talk about what you want, cause we know you got something to say.

Submit Your Talk

We’ve got a Google doc form set up on our Built page. Kindly fill it out and we’ll get back to you soon. Your talk goes here. Cruftbox rocked it last year with his story about a BBQ.

Of course we’re there again with Built and the Mobile Social. I’m speaking too.

Link D8

bike share

The bikes are located at 513 East Cesar Chavez Street, directly across from the Austin Convention Center and registrants can pick up a folding Link D8 bicycle for daily use with helmet, lights, locks and basket without preregistering, as long as supplies last.

More Rides, More Fun in 12

sharing At SXSW I’ve talked about making yourself more interesting, done epic shit, and how we work on the web. Also ridden around with thousands of people and brought counter programming with Built. This year, even more rides and fun are being planned. The Bike Share is part of that hotness.

See you there.

Update

I posted a bit too earlier on the SXSW BIke Share and they’re still working out the details. The link to their announcement is down and removed it here. It’s still on and I’ll repost when they get the details worked out.
